I found your post on dual coding informative and easy to understand. I can definitely relate to how this topic has changed the way I will approach and engage with resources like PowerPoint. I also reflected on past lectures or presentations that used PowerPoint, or something similar, in ways that created more frustration than understanding. Before working through this content on dual coding and presentations I had a hard time articulating why I didn’t like a presentation, oftentimes I would say something like “there is just too much going on”. Now I think we have both gained the ability to describe the stress overly stimulating presentations can put on a person’s cognitive load.

I also really enjoyed the introduction you created using Prezi. I also used Prezi to create a presentation for this week and found the video recording feature to be really useful. However, mine was a voice-over, and I really like the way you incorporated your webcam with graphics on the side (especially the minimal use of text and graphics). I’d like to try that with a presentation sometime because I think this is a great way to practice presentational speaking even though it is not live. Thanks for sharing!
